Framing your Pet Portraits and Wildlife Art Framing Prices...
Prices are in GBP, click here for foreign currencies. Choosing the mount and frame... Mounts generally come in any shade required. Their colour can match your decor or be a complimentary shade from the portrait. If you have a certain colour in mind please detail it on your order form and I will do my best to oblige. As for frames, you can see by the few examples here, there are many sizes and types available. If you would like your portrait framed please add this to your order form in the additional information section. Please note if you prefer wooden frames and whether light, medium or dark wood or if you have something else in mind. I will do my best to oblige however, if I cannot exactly meet your criteria, a suitable replacement will be made. If you prefer to be more exact, then please take your portrait to a framer and ask for a bespoke one to be made. Hanging Your Portrait...You must ensure you portrait is adequately secured. Some frames come with small hooks to hang them with or little taps can be fixed to the wall. These really are not strong enough, the best way to secure a portrait is with mirror fasteners or screw in hooks, these can be screwed directly into the frame, and then use doubled string. Although this sounds old fashioned and untidy, if done correctly the string will not be visible but your portrait is less likely to suffer a fall and be smashed. All that remains is to find a wall to hang your portrait on, although pencils (both colour and graphite) are highly pigmented they can suffer fading in direct sunlight, therefore it would be advisable to hang your portrait on a wall at right angles to your windows. All that remains to do is dust your portrait every now and then with a duster but no chemicals and your portrait will remain a focal point for many years to come. |
